Welcome Home!

Who Are We?

We are a small family looking to make a fun faith filled homestead in today's world! We are learning as we go, and are having fun doing it! Through the ups and downs, we are learning day by day how to have a successful homestead. We are creating memories and skills for our children that they will one day treasure and put to use as they grow older.

We started our homestead to help provide a source of food stability for our family in these uncertain times. We soon realized that we could do so much with even the small amount of land that we have. It is our goal to show others that no matter what size land you have, homesteading is possible on some level.

Some aspects of homesteading came easy, while some came with hard lessons. This doesn't mean we gave up! We hope to share our successes and failures with new, existing, and aspiring homesteaders in hopes of helping them in their journey.

We know this life isn't for everyone, but we wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

What Do We Do?

We started small with just 25 Rhode Island White chicks to use for eggs. After that we branched out into raising chickens for the purpose of meat. Almost two years later and we have added several chickens, turkeys, and even cows to our homestead! Though some of the animals are used for meat, we still give them the same love and attention as we would our pets or egg laying birds.

We put thought into each enclosure and process for all of our animals. We want our animals to be comfortable, happy, and to be able to prosper. For the ones that will one day be used as meat, our goal is to ensure a happy life for them with just one bad day at the end.

In addition to animals, we also grow plants on a smaller scale. We use these to feed our family and sometimes our animals. So far we have grown peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelons, and even some lettuce. We soon plan to branch out into wheat and fruit trees.

We have many plans for our homestead, and hope to share the excitement of those as they happen.
